Presenting ‘Standing Acrobatic Movement’ by Mark Smith and Yuri Yokose.
What is ‘Standing Acrobatic Movement’?
- Acrobatics is a sport involving two or more partners… Put simply: we’ll lift our partners up in the air.
- We’ll lift our partners using special techniques and good timing. A bit like weightlifting!
- Using clear communication we’ll work through various poses together.
- We’ll learn how to ensure the safety of ourselves and our partners.
- Acrobatics looks dead cool!
- AND you’ll feel great working as a team to achieve new heights together.
Standing acrobatic movement has much in common with traditional weightlifting. We will demonstrate this, and the fun of acrobatics in this seminar. We welcome beginners so please join us!

Hi! I’m Mark. I found Acrobatics in 2013 while working as a personal trainer and diet coach, and training as a power lifter and bodybuilder.
Since 2015 I’ve been hosting Acrobatic events and facilitating Acroyoga Teacher Trainings all over Japan and South East Asia.
Right now I love training Standing Acrobatics and I recently started learning weightlifting with. I’m interested in how the symbiosis between standing acrobatics and weightlifting can make me stronger in both!
My slightly outdated, and very pretty Instagram page is here:
I’m looking forward to training with you soon!
17 years of yoga teaching experience and 6 years of acro yoga teaching experience.
I’m based in Osaka, teach all over the country, and often travel outside Japan to study acro yoga.
I specialise in artistically styled acro and performances, and when I work with Mark I train and teach standing acrobatics.
I enjoy drawing from my long history of teaching experience to coach each individual student according to their characteristics.
I want to convey not only skills, but also the joy of group work I have learned in my various trainings.
